The adopted tree will be planted by us as soon as practicable after your adoption purchase and you will be sent a photograph of the planted tree and tags
Your adopter certification or gift certificate contains the unique GPS coordinates of your tree. You will receive this certification within 24 hours of purchase.
You can visit your tree anytime you choose. Some planting zones may be in areas that are potentially hazardous, such as next to roads or golf courses, so when you visit your tree, it is at your own risk, and we make no claim that it is safe to visit the tree
We will secure a thankyou tag to your tree. You can choose what name to put on the tag. If you do not want a thankyou adopter tag on your tree you must opt out at the time of purchase. If no selection is made, we will use your initials on the thankyou tag
Adopting a tree for a CHILD costs $10 less. The $10 discount is offered in the hope that being given an adopted tree as a gift may be educational and can encourage children to take an interest in planting trees. The $10 discount is expected to equate to us waiving any margin on the tree adoption, and a tree adopted for a child will receive the same certification, care and attention as trees adopted by or for adults
If you choose to adopt a different native species, the tree may be physically smaller than a Eucalyptus, have a different life cycle, and absorb less CO₂
The term ‘adoption’ and ‘your tree’ and ‘the tree’ and all related terms do not convey any ownership or any other interest in the tree or anything else. All trees remain property of adoptatree.com.au or of the landowner. Adopting a tree does not convey any legal interest whatsoever, including but not limited to carbon credits, carbon offsets, government incentives, programs or rebates
While every effort is made to ensure that trees are healthy and strong, occasionally a tree may die before reaching maturity. We guarantee to replace your tree if it dies within 12 months of planting, unless the tree dies as a result of a criminal act, human intervention or vandalism
Each tree can absorb up to 2.4 metric tons of CO₂ over its lifecycle. This calculation is based on a yearly average. Over an expected 60-year lifespan, we estimate that native Australian eucalyptus trees can absorb and capture between 10 and 40kg of CO₂ per tree per year average– meaning that adopting just one tree could offset 2,400 Kilograms (2.4 metric tons) of CO₂ over the life cycle of the tree. This figure may vary based on the species, location, and lifespan of the tree
In the unlikely event your tree cannot be planted at the GPS coordinates we provide you; we will seek an equivalent planting zone and inform you of the new GPS coordinates prior to planting
Some soil or environmental conditions may require changes to the species or the size of the tree to be planted. The size and species of adopted trees to be planted remain at the discretion of our managing arborist and size and species details provided are indicative only. Our choices of tree species and planting zone location are based on the best available environmental outcome available at the time
Once your purchase is made, the process of growing the seedling and allocating the planting space begins immediately. All sales are final and no refunds are possible.
Seedlings may be grown by us or sourced by us from trusted suppliers
We will not share your information, but we may wish to send you information about future planting zones. Please let us know if you don’t want to receive this information. Tick box to opt out of being informed of new planting zones.
